Installing WOI into FSX-SE
« on: May 28, 2016, 04:33:29 PM »

What is the procedure to install WOI in to STEAM.

What folder string do I point the installer?

I am also hearing that I need to convert something like the flightplan. Where do I get the converter utility?

Thank you for your help. Why doesn't WOI update the installer for this?

Point the installer to the folder where the fsx.exe is.
Use the button with the 3 dots to point to the fsx.exe. do not fill in the path yourself.
One does not have to convert the flightplans.

Why i do not update the installer? because i do not have the steam edition why should i buy the steam edition if i do not use it as i have the normal fsx edition.

I have tried that and I cannot get the files to load in the installer.  I have also physically typed the paths in to the installer and those files then load to my FSX folder. Yes I have both.

I am beyond perplexed. I gather WOI is a dead project at this time with no improvements upcoming since many WOI AI file/schedules are at least 7 years old. AS whole lot has changed in the industry has changed, at least here in the USA.

It is bit difficult to dignify this by a response or even to see it as a post.
To suggest that WOAI is a dead project is, least to say, bit harsh. WOAI is giving so much to FS community that cannot be imagined.
Many hours of free time working on a hobby without any profit or even any lust for profitability. Just to please FS community. And the new packages are coming up.
Remember R. Smith this is a freeware and people devote lot of free time to this.

It has been three years since any updates were released.

Alaska Airlines alone has tripled capacity in the past 3 years and the WOI AS package last update was 2010.

Don't care if it is free, either support it or pull the plug.

Seeing your reaction you should uninstall it and go for payware, or learn your self to install airlines by hand, then you will notice how time consuming it will be.

It has been awhile since anyone posted in this thread, so probably you will not be "pulling the plug." I'm glad, because I enjoy creating new routes myself, and your packages are the perfect starting point.
