Hi,
This happens usually at add-on airports. You need to change airport altitude. If you have FS2004, get ADE (Airport Design Editor) free download.
Open the airport, click Tools and Airport reference data. Change the altitude there and compile the airport. It creates a file in Scenery/World/Scenery folder.
Such as: TNCM_ADE9_PB_ALT.bgl and the altitude matches aircraft.
You might need to play with the altitude. Actually to get aircraft up, you need to increase altitude, to get aircraft down you need to reduce altitude.
Good luck.
