Having issues installing WoAI Packs
« on: April 08, 2016, 12:56:16 AM »
Hello there,

I have tried to install all WoAI available packs with the WoAI Installer, however it either hangs up for quite a while or gives me all the errors.

I have looked and did what most of the topics here, yet no luck. I was wondering if there might be a way to solve it.

I have it running on Compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

if you try to install all the packages at once, on some systems and sometimes due to antivirus this error ispossible

this is due to the fact that the installer want to empty a temp folder, but the system or antivirus is still busy with that folder.

Try to selecta smaller part.

If you install just one package you got this error too?

Thanks for your help. It works with a smaller portion of the packs but then I'll have to spend more time. However, now I am faced with a new problem. It installed most of the packs, but since I can't look up which package to start off next, I am not able to remove them so they do not duplicate when I try them from scratch.

Actually since the AI models are usually installed in the SimObjects/Airplanes folder, I went and deleted them so when I re-install, I have no duplicates. Will keep you updated.

The only way its working right now is one row at a time.

@Garfield_x,

I am really thankful for your work on the WoAI concept, however the installer takes the P*** when I am installing them, now there is a new problem that I should have recognized. When I install and it fails, then I try again from the start, it doesnt recognize those installed and duplicates my entire library.

Is there any other way to install them without the installer?

UPDATE: I am trying to install Passenger and Cargo now.

The installer has an extract feature that will extract the content to a folder of your choice, then you can install them bij hand.

But there must be something with your system. I can install all 600 packages in one run without any error.

Hmm. Not sure what it could be. Windows updates are automatically downloaded. I am downloading the passenger and cargo for now.

Thank you for your help.
